Proofpoint Core Email Protection automatically prevents advanced impersonation-based spear phishing attacks via email to help keep your account safe.
The system checks all emails when they are received into your inbox, and you won’t usually notice anything different unless Proofpoint detects something’s wrong.
If an email is flagged as suspicious it will be moved to a quarantine folder, and you’ll receive a notification email with a warning at the top explaining why the email might be malicious alongside a copy of the email where the links and attachments have been disabled.
You’ll be able to interact by selecting one of two buttons that will generate a reply message to either:
- Report and Delete - mark the email as malicious and deletes the email
- Release - release the original email to your inbox
