Registration Appeal

A student who has an unexpected life event or other extenuating circumstances during a term may request an exception to HCC’s dates and deadlines. To initiate the appeal process, the student must submit a registration appeal to RRVA via the registration appeal form.

To be considered for a registration appeal, you must submit a complete appeal packet including all of the following:

- A completed Registration Appeal Form
- A written personal statement explaining the reason for the appeal
- Supporting documentation of extenuating circumstances dated within the term being appealed(.jpg or .pdf); (medical documentation is destroyed after review)

Appeals decisions are delivered up to 60 days after submission of a complete appeals packet. Students remain responsible for making payment arrangements while awaiting appeals decisions. Submitting your appeal packet does not automatically mean that your appeal will be granted or that you will receive a grade change or refund. Every registration appeal submitted will be reviewed and considered individually. Students receiving Title IV funds and other finacial aid are subject to the rules, regulations and laws governing the aid they received. All appeal results will be sent to HCC email or mailing address on file. Please note: a non-failing grade cannot be appealed.
