Moving .PST files after initial OneDrive Sync

Information.

HCC's OneDrive does not allow the syncing of .PST files to the cloud. Because of this, error messages will appear in both OneDrive and Outlook. Below are what the errors will look like in OneDrive and Outlook.

Step 1.

Click on the "File Explorer" icon. It'll look like a manila folder.

Step 2.

Click on the "This PC" option and then click "(C:) Windows)

Step 3.

Click "Users".

Step 4.

Click on the folder with your HCC login ID as the folder name.

Step 5.

Click "New Folder" and then give the new folder the name "PST Files".

Step 6.

Click "OneDrive - Howard Community College".

Step 7.

Click "Documents".

Step 8.

Click "Outlook Files".

Step 9.

Look for any files that end in .PST. Move those files out of this folder and into the new one you created named "PST Files" back in step 5.

Step 10.

Open Outlook on your computer. Click okay at the error message.

Step 11.

Click "Cancel" at the next pop up window.

Step 12.

With Outlook open, click "File".

Step 13.

Click "Account Settings" and then "Account Settings".

Step 14.

Click "Data Files", then click the PST file and select "Remove". Do this for any PST files present. Leave all the none PST files alone.

Step 15.

With the PST files removed, select "Add".

Step 16.

Navigate to your folder named "PST Files". Then click the PST file you want to add. Repeat this for any PST files as desired.
